Web browser encryption

Web browsers use encryption to communicate securely over the Internet. You must have a browser with 128-bit encryption to use FirstCaribbean Internet Banking. All of the browsers supported by FirstCaribbean Internet Banking offer 128-bit encryption.

Session timeout

If you use a public or shared computer with FirstCaribbean Internet Banking, it is vital that you sign out when you are finished. Once you have signed out, you should enhance your security by deleting the browser's cache. The cache maintains a copy of web pages that have been viewed recently.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later for Windows

  1. Choose "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select the "General" tab.
  3. Select "Delete Files" and then select "OK".
  4. Deleting cached files may take a while. When the browser is done, select "OK".

Netscape Navigator 6.2 or later for Windows

  1. Choose "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
  2. Select the triangle next to "Advanced".
  3. Select "Cache".
  4. Select "Clear Cache".
  5. Select "OK".
